Kusatsu Onsen Kiyoshigekan

Route292 will be opened from 25 April. After the road is opened, we can get to Yugama, Manza, Yudanaka(Snow Monkey Park) and Nagano directly.

But, in April. it may snow in Mt.Shirane. If it snow, the road will be closed.

If you have a plan to pass through Mt.Shirane, you should pay attention to weather.

The schedule of the train and the bus for Kusatsu Onsen has been revised.

In winter, Route 292 in Mt.Shirane is closed. When you go to Yudanaka, you should go via Route 144 and Joshin-etsu Highway.

Kusatsu Kokusai Ski Area will be opened from 17 Dec.. there is no snow in Tenguyama area(base of the ski area) yet. Only Moto-Shirane Area is available until Tenguyama Area is opened.

To get to Moto-Shirane area, you should take the cable car. And to the cable car station there is a free shuttle bus from Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal.



Until Tengyama Area is opened, a rental shop of ski gear is in business at the cable car station.

The schedule of the bus between Karuizawa and Kusatsu Onsen was revised. I have uploaded the new timetable of the bus.

Winter is coming to Kusatsu Onsen soon. We are making the preparation for winter.

"Ootakinoyu bath house" is closed for the renewal. (Nov. 1 ~ Dec. 22)

"The cable car in Mt. Shirane" is suspended for the regular maintenance. (Nov. 7 ~ Dec. 2)

"Route 292(Shiga-Kusatsu highlands way)" will be closed in winter. (Nov. 14 ~ Apr. 25 2012)

"Kusatsu International Ski Area" will be opened on Dec. 17.
